Virginia is a passionate and dedicated social researcher currently working in public health. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Political, Social, and International Science from the University of Bologna (Italy) and a Master of Science in Social Research from Goldsmiths College, University of London (UK).
In 2020, she was diagnosed with Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH), a journey that started when she was 13 years old and diagnosed with childhood refractory cytopenia. Her personal experience with PNH, combined with her professional background in research, has given her unique perspective and drive to contribute to the PNH community. Earlier this year Virginia took part in the European Hematology Association (EHA) Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Patient Advocates programme and she is currently a PNH Support member of the Community Reference Group for the Better Together Project.
